
Dennis Ryan is a native of Florida and has sung in Europe and the US for over 15 years. In addition to performing on the opera stage, Dennis is also a professional chef, English teacher, English editor, and voice teacher. He has enjoyed an extensive career in the food service industry and works as an Executive sous chef at a large luxury family camp in New Hampshire each summer.
Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University in 2015, a Master of Music in opera performance from The University of Kansas in 2018, an Artist Diploma from the Hartt School of Music in 2020, and is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts Graduate Assistant at Louisiana State University. Recent engagements include, Dr. Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, The Donkey/Messenger in Mark Adamo’s Becoming Santa Claus with Opera Louisiane, Josef Kuhbrot in Kunneke’s Das vette aus Dingsda, Sarastro in Mozart’s Die Zauberflute with Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar, Il Commendatore with both the Vienna opera festival and Theater Rudolstadt, Colline with Opera Connecticut, and Dr. Grenvil with Opera Naples. Mr. Ryan has also performed the Jailer in Tosca with Florida Grand Opera and had solo engagements with The Master Chorale of South Florida and The Symphony of the Americas.
Dennis has living in several countries with his beautiful wife and they welcomed their daughter into the world in 2022. After living abroad for four years, they decided to return to the United States so Dennis could finish his Doctorate of Musical arts degree. The Ryan family is enjoying their time in Memphis and Dennis looks forward to future engagements.
